A Snifter Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABACDEDE FGFGHGHG IJIJKJKJ GFGFLJLJ

After working hard all dayA
In the officeB
How much worse on homeward wayA
My old cough isC
Barney's Bar is gaily litD
Let me stop thereE
Just to buck me up a bitD
Have a drop thereE
-
As I stand beside the screenF
HesitatingG
I have thought of how NoreenF
Will be waitingG
Baby Patsy in her lapH
Gay and laughingG
While at Barney's foaming tapH
I am quaffingG
-
Barney's Bar is mighty brightI
Looks so cheeryJ
Wonder what I'll drink tonightI
Gee I'm wearyJ
Will I have Scotch or RyeK
Bourbon maybeJ
Then I see with mental eyeK
Wife and babyJ
-
So I say 'tis malted milkG
I'll be skoffin'F
Sooth my throttle sleek as silkG
Ease my coughin'F
Say I love them two to deathL
Sure they miss meJ
With no whisky on my breathL
How they'll kiss meJ
