A Mediocre Man Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCBCB BBBBDEDE FGFHIAIA

I'm just a mediocre manA
Of no high brow pretenceB
A comfortable life I planA
With care and commonsenseB
I do the things most people doC
I echo what they sayB
And through my morning paper viewC
The problems of the dayB
-
No doubt you think I'm colourlessB
Profoundly commonplaceB
And yet I fancy more or lessB
I represent the raceB
My name may stand for everyoneD
At least for nine in tenE
For all in all the world is runD
By mediocre menE
-
Of course you'll maybe not agreeF
That you are averageG
And unlike ordinary meF
You strut your little stageH
Well you may even own a BankI
And mighty mergers planA
But Brother doff your tile and thankI
The Mediocre ManA
