Children Of Light Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABCCDDEFF

Our fathers wrung their bread from stocks and stonesA
And fenced their gardens with the Redmen's bonesA
Embarking from the Nether Land of HollandB
Pilgrims unhouseled by Geneva's nightC
They planted here the Serpent's seeds of lightC
And here the pivoting searchlights probe to shockD
The riotous glass houses built on rockD
And candles gutter by an empty altarE
And light is where the landless blood of CainF
Is burning burning the unburied grainF
