Winter-time Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABB CCCC DDEE FFCC GHII

Late lies the wintry sun a bedA
A frosty fiery sleepy headA
Blinks but an hour or two and thenB
A blood red orange sets againB
-
Before the stars have left the skiesC
At morning in the dark I riseC
And shivering in my nakednessC
By the cold candle bathe and dressC
-
Close by the jolly fire I sitD
To warm my frozen bones a bitD
Or with a reindeer sled exploreE
The colder countries round the doorE
-
When to go out my nurse doth wrapF
Me in my comforter and capF
The cold wind burns my face and blowsC
Its frosty pepper up my noseC
-
Black are my steps on silver sodG
Thick blows my frosty breath abroadH
And tree and house and hill and lakeI
Are frosted like a wedding cakeI
