To Marcus Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCCAB DEFFDE GHIJGH KDLLKD AMNNAO PQRRPS

YOU have been far and IA
Been farther yetB
Since last in foul or fairC
An impecunious pairC
Below this northern skyA
Of ours we metB
-
Now winter night shall seeD
Again us twoE
While howls the tempest higherF
Sit warmly by the fireF
And dream and plan as weD
Were wont to doE
-
And hand in hand at largeG
Our thoughts shall walkH
While storm and gusty rainI
Again and yet againJ
Shall drive their noisy chargeG
Across the talkH
-
The pleasant future stillK
Shall smile to meD
And hope with wooing handsL
Wave on to fairy landsL
All over dale and hillK
And earth and seaD
-
And you who doubt the skyA
And fear the sunM
You Christian with the packN
You shall not wander backN
For I am Hopeful IA
Will cheer you onO
-
Come where the great have trodP
The great shall leadQ
Come elbow through the pressR
Pluck Fortune by the dressR
By God we must by GodP
We shall succeedS
