The Moon Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABB BBCC DDBB

The moon has a face like the clock in the hallA
She shines on thieves on the garden wallA
On streets and fields and harbour quaysB
And birdies asleep in the forks of the treesB
-
The squalling cat and the squeaking mouseB
The howling dog by the door of the houseB
The bat that lies in bed at noonC
All love to be out by the light of the moonC
-
But all of the things that belong to the dayD
Cuddle to sleep to be out of her wayD
And flowers and children close their eyesB
Till up in the morning the sun shall ariseB
