Summer Sun Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABB CDEE FFGG HHII EEAA

Great is the sun and wide he goesA
Through empty heaven with reposeA
And in the blue and glowing daysB
More thick than rain he showers his raysB
-
Though closer still the blinds we pullC
To keep the shady parlour coolD
Yet he will find a chink or twoE
To slip his golden fingers throughE
-
The dusty attic spider cladF
He through the keyhole maketh gladF
And through the broken edge of tilesG
Into the laddered hay loft smilesG
-
Meantime his golden face aroundH
He bares to all the garden groundH
And sheds a warm and glittering lookI
Among the ivy's inmost nookI
-
Above the hills along the blueE
Round the bright air with footing trueE
To please the child to paint the roseA
The gardener of the World he goesA
