Sonnet Viii Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBACDDECE

As Daniel bird alone in that far landA
Kneeling in fervent prayer with heart sick eyesB
Turned thro' the casement toward the westering skiesB
Or as untamed Elijah that red brandA
Among the starry prophets or that bandA
And company of Faithful sanctitiesB
Who in all times when persecutions riseB
Cherish forgotten creeds with fostering handA
Such do ye seem to me light hearted crewC
O turned to friendly arts with all your willD
That keep a little chapel sacred stillD
One rood of Holy land in this bleak earthE
Sequestered still our homage surely dueC
To the twin Gods of mirthful wine and mirthE
