Know You The River Near To Grez Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCCD EFEEF GCGGA HAHHA

KNOW you the river near to GrezA
A river deep and clearB
Among the lilies all the wayC
That ancient river runs to dayC
From snowy weir to weirD
-
Old as the Rhine of great renownE
She hurries clear and fastF
She runs amain by field and townE
From south to north from up to downE
To present on from pastF
-
The love I hold was borne by herG
And now though far awayC
My lonely spirit hears the stirG
Of water round the starling spurG
Beside the bridge at GrezA
-
So may that love forever holdH
In life an equal paceA
So may that love grow never oldH
But clear and pure and fountain coldH
Go on from grace to graceA
