Had I The Power That Have The Will Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEF GHGH

HAD I the power that have the willA
The enfeebled will a modern curseB
This book of mine should blossom stillA
A perfect garden ground of verseB
-
White placid marble gods should keepC
Good watch in every shadowy lawnD
And from clean easy breathing sleepC
The birds should waken me at dawnD
-
A fairy garden none the lessE
Throughout these gracious paths of mineF
All day there should be free accessE
For stricken hearts and lives that pineF
-
And by the folded lawns all dayG
No idle gods for such a landH
All active Love should take its wayG
With active Labour hand in handH
