Frag2 Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDDEEFFGGFFHH

Tall as a guardsman pale as the east at dawnA
Who strides in strange apparel on the lawnA
Rails for his breakfast routs his vassals outB
Like boys escaped from school with song and shoutB
Kind and unkind his Maker's final freakC
Part we deride the child part dread the antiqueC
See where his gang like frogs among the dewD
Crouch at their duty an unquiet crewD
Adjust their staring kilts and their swift eyesE
Turn still to him who sits to superviseE
He in the midst perched on a fallen treeF
Eyes them at labour and guitar on kneeF
Now ministers alarm now scatters joyG
Now twangs a halting chord now tweaks a boyG
Thorough in all my resolute vizierF
Plays both the despot and the volunteerF
Exacts with fines obedience to my lawsH
And for his music too exacts applauseH
