De Erotio Puella Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCCDDEEFFGGHH

THIS girl was sweeter than the song of swansA
And daintier than the lamb upon the lawnsB
Or Curine oyster She the flower of girlsC
Outshone the light of Erythraean pearlsC
The teeth of India that with polish glowD
The untouched lilies or the morning snowD
Her tresses did gold dust outshineE
And fair hair of women of the RhineE
Compared to her the peacock seemed not fairF
The squirrel lively or the phoenix rareF
Her on whose pyre the smoke still hovering waitsG
Her whom the greedy and unequal fatesG
On the sixth dawning of her natal dayH
My child love and my playmate snatcht awayH
