Upon The Bishop Of Lincoln's Imprisonment Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDEFFGGEEGGHHIH JJ

Never was day so over sick with showersA
But that it had some intermitting hoursA
Never was night so tedious but it knewB
The last watch out and saw the dawning tooB
Never was dungeon so obscurely deepC
Wherein or light or day did never peepC
Never did moon so ebb or seas so waneD
But they left hope seed to fill up againE
So you my lord though you have now your stayF
Your night your prison and your ebb you mayF
Spring up afresh when all these mists are spentG
And star like once more gild our firmamentG
Let but that mighty C sar speak and thenE
All bolts all bars all gates shall cleave as whenE
That earthquake shook the house and gave the stoutG
Apostles way unshackled to go outG
This as I wish for so I hope to seeH
Though you my lord have been unkind to meH
To wound my heart and never to applyI
When you had power the meanest remedyH
Well though my grief by you was gall'd the moreJ
Yet I bring balm and oil to heal your soreJ
