To Music, To Becalm His Fever Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCCDEEED FDFGHHBIIIB JBJBBBKLLLK

Charm me asleep and melt me soA
With thy delicious numbersB
That being ravish'd hence I goA
Away in easy slumbersB
Ease my sick headC
And make my bedC
Thou power that canst severD
From me this illE
And quickly stillE
Though thou not killE
My feverD
-
Thou sweetly canst convert the sameF
From a consuming fireD
Into a gentle licking flameF
And make it thus expireG
Then make me weepH
My pains asleepH
And give me such reposesB
That I poor II
May think therebyI
I live and dieI
'Mongst rosesB
-
Fall on me like the silent dewJ
Or like those maiden showersB
Which by the peep of day do strewJ
A baptim o'er the flowersB
Melt melt my painsB
With thy soft strainsB
That having ease me givenK
With full delightL
I leave this lightL
And take my flightL
For HeavenK
