To His Saviour, A Child;a Present, By A Child Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBAACCDDEEFFGHIE

Go pretty child and bear this flowerA
Unto thy little SaviourA
And tell him by that bud now blownB
He is the Rose of Sharon knownB
When thou hast said so stick it thereA
Upon his bib or stomacherA
And tell him for good handsel tooC
That thou hast brought a whistle newC
Made of a clean straight oaten reedD
To charm his cries at time of needD
Tell him for coral thou hast noneE
But if thou hadst he should have oneE
But poor thou art and known to beF
Even as moneyless as heF
Lastly if thou canst win a kissG
From those melifluous lips of hisH
Then never take a second onI
To spoil the first impressionE
