To His Conscience Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCADECAFGAAAAHHAA

Can I not sin but thou wilt beA
My private protonotaryB
Can I not woo thee to pass byC
A short and sweet iniquityA
I'll cast a mist and cloud uponD
My delicate transgressionE
So utter dark as that no eyeC
Shall see the hugg'd impietyA
Gifts blind the wise and bribes do pleaseF
And wind all other witnessesG
And wilt not thou with gold be tiedA
To lay thy pen and ink asideA
That in the mirk and tongueless nightA
Wanton I may and thou not writeA
It will not be And therefore nowH
For times to come I'll make this vowH
From aberrations to live freeA
So I'll not fear the judge or theeA
