The Vision Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDDEEFFDDFGDDHI JK

Sitting alone as one forsookA
Close by a silver shedding brookA
With hands held up to love I weptB
And after sorrows spent I sleptB
Then in a vision I did seeC
A glorious form appear to meC
A virgin's face she had her dressD
Was like a sprightly SpartanessD
A silver bow with green silk strungE
Down from her comely shoulders hungE
And as she stood the wanton airF
Dangled the ringlets of her hairF
Her legs were such Diana showsD
When tucked up she a hunting goesD
With buskins shortened to descryF
The happy dawning of her thighG
Which when I saw I made accessD
To kiss that tempting nakednessD
But she forbade me with a wandH
Of myrtle she had in her handI
And chiding me said Hence removeJ
Herrick thou art too coarse to loveK
