The Flourish of Music then followed the SongA
-
Tell us thou clear and heavenly tongueB
Where is the Babe but lately sprungB
Lies he the lily banks amongB
-
Or say if this new Birth of oursC
Sleeps laid within some ark of flowersC
Spangled with dew light thou canst clearD
All doubts and manifest the whereE
-
Declare to us bright star if we shall seekF
Him in the morning's blushing cheekF
Or search the beds of spices throughG
To find him outH
-
Star No this ye need not doG
But only come and see Him restI
A Princely Babe in's mother's breastI
-
Chor He's seen He's seen why then a roundJ
Let's kiss the sweet and holy groundJ
And all rejoice that we have foundJ
A King before conception crown'dJ
-
Come then come then and let us bringK
Unto our pretty Twelfth tide KingK
Each one his several offeringK
-
Chor And when night comes we'll give Him wassailingK
And that His treble honours may be seenL
We'll choose Him King and make His mother QueenL
