The Captiv'd Bee; Or, The Little Filcher Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDEBBFFGGHIJJKK ALCCMMNNNOO

As Julia once a slumb'ring layA
It chanced a bee did fly that wayA
After a dew or dew like showerB
To tipple freely in a flowerB
For some rich flower he took the lipC
Of Julia and began to sipC
But when he felt he suck'd from thenceD
Honey and in the quintessenceE
He drank so much he scarce could stirB
So Julia took the pilfererB
And thus surprised as filchers useF
He thus began himself t'excuseF
'Sweet lady flower I never broughtG
Hither the least one thieving thoughtG
But taking those rare lips of yoursH
For some fresh fragrant luscious flowersI
I thought I might there take a tasteJ
Where so much sirup ran at wasteJ
Besides know this I never stingK
The flower that gives me nourishingK
But with a kiss or thanks do payA
For honey that I bear away 'L
This siid he laid his little scripC
Of honey 'fore her ladyshipC
And told her as some tears did fallM
That that he took and that was allM
At which she smiled and bade him goN
And take his bag but thus much knowN
When next he came a pilfering soN
He should from her full lips deriveO
Honey enough to fill his hiveO
