Mrs Eliz: Wheeler, Under The Name Of Thelost Shepherdess Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBBBCCDDAAEFFGHHDD II

Among the myrtles as I walk'dA
Love and my sighs thus intertalk'dA
Tell me said I in deep distressB
Where I may find my ShepherdessB
Thou fool said Love know'st thou not thisB
In every thing that's sweet she isB
In yond' carnation go and seekC
There thou shalt find her lip and cheekC
In that enamell'd pansy byD
There thou shalt have her curious eyeD
In bloom of peach and rose's budA
There waves the streamer of her bloodA
'Tis true said I and thereuponE
I went to pluck them one by oneF
To make of parts an unionF
But on a sudden all were goneG
At which I stopp'd Said Love these beH
The true resemblances of theeH
For as these flowers thy joys must dieD
And in the turning of an eyeD
And all thy hopes of her must witherI
Like those short sweets here knit togetherI
