Matins, Or Morning Prayer Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCCDDEE

When with the virgin morning thou dost riseA
Crossing thyself come thus to sacrificeB
First wash thy heart in innocence then bringC
Pure hands pure habits pure pure every thingC
Next to the altar humbly kneel and thenceD
Give up thy soul in clouds of frankincenseD
Thy golden censers fill'd with odours sweetE
Shall make thy actions with their ends to meetE
