His Winding-sheet Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDDEEFGHIJJKKLL BBMNOOPPBBQQRRSSTTOO UUVWXXHI

Come thou who are the wine and witA
Of all I've writA
The grace the glory and the bestB
Piece of the restB
Thou art of what I did intendC
The all and endC
And what was made was made to meetD
Thee thee my sheetD
Come then and be to my chaste sideE
Both bed and brideE
We two as reliques left will haveF
Once rest one graveG
And hugging close we will not fearH
Lust entering hereI
Where all desires are dead and coldJ
As is the mouldJ
And all affections are forgotK
Or trouble notK
Here here the slaves and prisoners beL
From shackles freeL
And weeping widows long oppress'dB
Do here find restB
The wrong egrave d client ends his lawsM
Here and his causeN
Here those long suits of Chancery lieO
Quiet or dieO
And all Star Chamber bills do ceaseP
Or hold their peaceP
Here needs no Court for our RequestB
Where all are bestB
All wise all equal and all justQ
Alike i' th' dustQ
Nor need we here to fear the frownR
Of court or crownR
Where fortune bears no sway o'er thingsS
There all are kingsS
In this securer place we'll keepT
As lull'd asleepT
Or for a little time we'll lieO
As robes laid byO
To be another day re wornU
Turn'd but not tornU
Or like old testaments engross'dV
Lock'd up not lostW
And for a while lie here conceal'dX
To be reveal'dX
Next at the great Platonick yearH
And then meet hereI
