An Ode To Sir Clipsby Crew Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABCCD EEDFFD GGHIIH DDJKKL MMNDDN OONPPN

Here we securely live and eatA
The cream of meatA
And keep eternal firesB
By which we sit and do divineC
As wineC
And rage inspiresD
-
If full we charm then call uponE
AnacreonE
To grace the frantic ThyrseD
And having drunk we raise a shoutF
ThroughoutF
To praise his verseD
-
Then cause we Horace to be readG
Which sung or saidG
A goblet to the brimH
Of lyric wine both swell'd and crown'dI
AroundI
We quaff to himH
-
Thus thus we live and spend the hoursD
In wine and flowersD
And make the frolic yearJ
The month the week the instant dayK
To stayK
The longer hereL
-
Come then brave Knight and see the cellM
Wherein I dwellM
And my enchantments tooN
Which love and noble freedom isD
And thisD
Shall fetter youN
-
Take horse and come or be so kindO
To send your mindO
Though but in numbers fewN
And I shall think I have the heartP
Or partP
Of Clipsby CrewN
