Not all thy flushing suns are setA
Herrick as yetA
Nor doth this far drawn hemisphereB
Frown and look sullen ev'rywhereB
Days may conclude in nights and suns may restC
As dead within the westC
Yet the next morn regild the fragrant eastD
-
Alas for me that I have lostE
E'en all almostF
Sunk is my sight set is my sunG
And all the loom of life undoneG
The staff the elm the prop the shelt'ring wallH
Whereon my vine did crawlH
Now now blown down needs must the old stock fallH
-
Yet Porter while thou keep'st aliveI
In death I thriveI
And like a phoenix re aspireB
From out my nard and fun'ral fireB
And as I prune my feathered youth so IJ
Do mar'l how I could dieJ
When I had thee my chief preserver byJ
-
I'm up I'm up and bless that handK
Which makes me standK
Now as I do and but for theeL
I must confess I could not beL
The debt is paid for he who doth resignM
Thanks to the gen'rous vineM
Invites fresh grapes to fill his press with wineM
