A Hymn To The Lares Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBBBCCCCCCAADDEC

It was and still my care isA
To worship ye the LaresA
With crowns of greenest parsleyB
And garlic chives not scarcelyB
For favours here to warm meB
And not by fire to harm meB
For gladding so my hearth hereC
With inoffensive mirth hereC
That while the wassail bowl hereC
With North down ale doth troul hereC
No syllable doth fall hereC
To mar the mirth at all hereC
For which O chimney keepersA
I dare not call ye sweepersA
So long as I am ableD
To keep a country tableD
Great be my fare or small cheerE
I'll eat and drink up all hereC
