Azrael Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCDCECEFGFGHDHD IJIJ

The angels in high placesA
Who minister to usB
Reflect God's smile their facesA
Are luminousB
Save one whose face is hiddenC
The Prophet saithD
The unwelcome the unbiddenC
Azrael Angel of DeathD
And yet that veil egrave d face I knowC
Is lit with pitying eyesE
Like those faint stars the first to glowC
Through cloudy winter skiesE
That they may never tireF
Angels by God's decreeG
Bear wings of snow and fireF
Passion and purityG
Save one all unavailingH
The Prophet saithD
His wings are gray and trailingH
Azrael Angel of DeathD
And yet the souls that Azrael bringsI
Across the dark and coldJ
Look up beneath those folded wingsI
And find them lined with goldJ
