redmonds_arthur: The grandson of Gilbert de Clare, Robert Fitz Richard, took the town in 1158 and built a new castle. Welsh forces destroyed this one in 1164. A new castle was built at some point after this by the Welsh by 1202, and controlled by Maelgwyn and Gruffud - brothers (3/9⬇️)
