Neither Out Far Nor In Deep Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEF GHGH

The people along the sandA
All turn and look one wayB
They turn their back on the landA
They look at the sea all dayB
-
As long as it takes to passC
A ship keeps raising its hullD
The wetter ground like glassC
Reflects a standing gullD
-
The land may vary moreE
But wherever the truth may beF
The water comes ashoreE
And the people look at the seaF
-
They cannot look out farG
They cannot look in deepH
But when was that ever a barG
To any watch they keepH
