Thought's Garden. Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDEFFGGHHIIJKLLI have within Thought's garden sat | A |
And played with this sweet flower and that | A |
And touched my lute till each soft string | B |
Was tuned to Love's remembering | B |
Then in the grass I've laid me down | C |
And woven my heart a faery crown | C |
As one who in a dream might be | D |
Intoxicate with poesy | E |
Until I felt my being grow | F |
Pure as a flower as white as snow | F |
Though through it did a rosy streak | G |
The passion of my love bespeak | G |
And I would feed on fancies then | H |
Till I came back to time again | H |
Like one who on a fragrant way | I |
Had parted with the golden Day | I |
And in the twilight wandering home | J |
Did then as to Love's cabin come | K |
And found within a mate who made | L |
A glory of the coming shade | L |
