Song #8. Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDEDEFEGHIEJEKEK LMNM

I wonder if when done withA
Is all earth's pain and careB
When we at length are one withA
The Dead and with them bearB
Our part in the new life thatC
Is now beyond our kenD
If we shall then rememberE
Our loves or love againD
Will when the flesh is overE
And all its needs are goneF
The souls of loved and loverE
As in a dream love onG
Or will they live but mingleH
No more in the new sphereI
As they had done for everE
With all that they were hereJ
Will father then and motherE
Or lover then and friendK
Be nothing to each otherE
When here we make an endK
Of all that we have lived forL
Or shall our sprites aboveM
Indeed attain themselves inN
The entity of loveM
