Love In Hades. Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCDBEBFBGBGHGHG BEBFBDBD

I saw Love pass with Charon downA
The pale infernal tideB
To visit in the starless townA
All who for him had diedB
The gay God and the old Ghost cameC
Slow to that sleepy shoreD
And a dead passion burned like flameC
Before each true love's doorD
Into this place and that he steptB
The eyes still held their tearsE
Though some had their strange sorrow keptB
More than ten thousand yearsF
He saw the old and young who wentB
Devoid of life yet whoG
Though all their joys on earth were spentB
Were to their dream loves trueG
He saw all who had worshipped himH
Before thought's light withdrewG
Until the ages seemed to swimH
Round him there dying tooG
And he could feel his faint heart beatB
A ghostly tune with theirsE
As he too might cease to competeB
With the decaying yearsF
Ay though a God he went aghastB
From the mysterious shoreD
And Charon smiled when he at lastB
Touched time with him once moreD
