| The eyes still held their tears | E |
| Though some had their strange sorrow kept | B |
| More than ten thousand years | F |

| Devoid of life yet who | G |
| Though all their joys on earth were spent | B |
| Were to their dream loves true | G |
| He saw all who had worshipped him | H |
| Before thought's light withdrew | G |
| Until the ages seemed to swim | H |

| A ghostly tune with theirs | E |
