God's Rest. Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDEDEFGAGHIHIJBJB EFEA

I saw God in a dream go byA
As if He trod the phantom airB
Within a hushed eternityC
Dead worlds around Him everywhereB
No sign of life and God asleepD
All things absorbed in Him at lastE
Nothing for Him to care for keepD
Since thought from everything had passedE
A mystic vision on its wayF
His image filled the awful gloomG
As if His work were o'er for ayeA
Himself His own creation's tombG
As if when sleep fell on Him allH
Sensation with a tremor ceasedI
As all things felt the weird recallH
And the gigantic strain releasedI
The worlds stayed still without a breathJ
Entranced within the phantom airB
Since God had done with life and deathJ
And ta'en Himself from everywhereB
This was His Sabbath In the pastE
'Tis said He rested for a dayF
But this was a sleep that would lastE
Since He had done with all for ayeA
