Earth Rune. Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDDEFEFGGHIHIJJI heard the Earth within me sing | A |
As if it were a tranc d thing | A |
Or as if under thought's control | B |
All things were chaunting in my soul | B |
I was the centre of the sphere | C |
And made the imaginary year | C |
Whose seasons four were each a mood | D |
Like God's within His solitude | D |
The unborn may dream of our life | E |
As we still dream of death until | F |
Its shadow falls upon our strife | E |
As the birth light on the unborn will | F |
When they emerge as from a tomb | G |
Within the antenatal gloom | G |
Ah they may guess at what we know | H |
May picture what their lives will be | I |
When they into time's essence flow | H |
And take on thought's reality | I |
As we may deem of death who pass | J |
Like shadows o'er the shining grass | J |
