| There is round which the breezes quiver | A |
| Like sweet birds that would stay | B |
| A moment on their way | B |
| So green it is with leaves and grass | C |
| And chequered by the clouds that pass | C |

| As sweet with flowers as life with love | D |
| And breathing of a mood | E |
| That like a wild bird in the city's din | F |
| Though far from all its kith and kin | F |
| Sustains its solitude | E |
