The Tear-drop Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABC DEFF GHAA

Wae is my heart and the tear's in my e'eA
Lang lang Joy's been a stranger to meA
Forsaken and friendless my burden I bearB
And the sweet voice o' Pity ne'er sounds in my earC
-
Love thou hast pleasures and deep hae I lov'dD
Love thou hast sorrows and sair hae I prov'dE
But this bruised heart that now bleeds in my breastF
I can feel by its throbbings will soon be at restF
-
Of if I were where happy I hae beenG
Down by yon stream and yon bonie castle greenH
For there he is wand'ring and musing on meA
Wha wad soon dry the tear frae his Phillis' e'eA
