Tune Good night and joy be wi' you a'A
-
-
I-
-
Adieu a heart warm fond adieuB
Dear brothers of the mystic tie-
Ye favour'd ye enlighten'd fewB
Companions of my social joyC
Tho' I to foreign lands must hieD
Pursuing Fortune's slidd'ry ba'E
With melting heart and brimful eye-
I'll mind you still tho' far awa'F
-
II-
-
Oft have I met your social bandG
And spent the cheerful festive nightH
Oft honour'd with supreme commandG
Presided o'er the sons of lightH
And by that hieroglyphic brightH
Which none but craftsmen ever sawI
Strong mem'ry on my heart shall writeH
Those happy scenes when far awa'F
-
III-
-
May freedom harmony and loveJ
Unite you in the grand designK
Beneath th' Omniscient Eye aboveJ
The glorious architect divineK
That you may keep th' unerring lineK
Still rising by the plummet's lawI
Till order bright completely shineK
Shall be my pray'r when far awa'F
-
IVJ
-
And you farewell whose merits claimL
Justly that highest badge to wearM
Heav'n bless your honour'd noble nameL
To masonry and Scotia dearN
A last request permit me hereO
When yearly ye assemble a'A
One round I ask it with a tearM
To him the Bard that's far awa'F
