Rhyme Scheme: ABACCDCD EFEGCHID JKLAMNAD

O MARY at thy window beA
It is the wish'd the trysted hourB
Those smiles and glances let me seeA
That make the miser's treasure poorC
How blythely was I bide the stourC
A weary slave frae sun to sunD
Could I the rich reward secureC
The lovely Mary MorisonD
-
-
Yestreen when to the trembling stringE
The dance gaed thro' the lighted ha'F
To thee my fancy took its wingE
I sat but neither heard nor sawG
Tho' this was fair and that was brawC
And yon the toast of a' the townH
I sigh'd and said among them a'I
Ye are na Mary MorisonD
-
-
Oh Mary canst thou wreck his peaceJ
Wha for thy sake wad gladly dieK
Or canst thou break that heart of hisL
Whase only faut is loving theeA
If love for love thou wilt na gieM
At least be pity to me shownN
A thought ungentle canna beA
The thought o' Mary MorisonD
