AS Tam the chapman on a dayA
Wi'Death forgather'd by the wayA
Weel pleas'd he greets a wight so famousB
And Death was nae less pleas'd wi' ThomasB
Wha cheerfully lays down his packC
And there blaws up a hearty crackC
His social friendly honest heartD
Sae tickled Death they could na partD
Sae after viewing knives and gartersE
