Impromptu On Mrs. Riddell's Birthday Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCCDDEE FFGGHHHH

OLD Winter with his frosty beardA
Thus once to Jove his prayer preferredB
What have I done of all the yearC
To bear this hated doom severeC
My cheerless suns no pleasure knowD
Night's horrid car drags dreary slowD
My dismal months no joys are crowningE
But spleeny English hanging drowningE
-
-
Now Jove for once be mighty civilF
To counterbalance all this evilF
Give me and I've no more to sayG
Give me Maria's natal dayG
That brilliant gift shall so enrich meH
Spring Summer Autumn cannot match meH
'Tis done says Jove so ends my storyH
And Winter once rejoiced in gloryH
