I Dream'd I Lay Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABACAC ADADEFEF

I dream'd I lay where flowers were springingA
Gaily in the sunny beamB
List'ning to the wild birds singingA
By a falling crystal streamB
Straight the sky grew black and daringA
Thro' the woods the whirlwinds raveC
Tress with aged arms were warringA
O'er the swelling drumlie waveC
-
Such was my life's deceitful morningA
Such the pleasures I enjoyedD
But lang or noon loud tempests stormingA
A' my flowery bliss destroy'dD
Tho' fickle fortune has deceiv'd meE
She promis'd fair and perform'd but illF
Of mony a joy and hope bereav'd meE
I bear a heart shall support me stillF
