Tune Wandering WillieA

Ance mair I hail thee thou gloomy DecemberB
Ance mair I hail thee wi' sorrow and careC
Sad was the parting thou makes me rememberB
Parting wi' Nancy oh ne'er to meet mairC
Fond lovers' parting is sweet painful pleasureB
Hope beaming mild on the soft parting hourB
But the dire feeling O farewell for everB
Is anguish unmingled and agony pureD

Wild as the winter now tearing the forestE
'Till the last leaf o' the summer is flownF
Such is the tempest has shaken my bosomG
Since my last hope and last comfort is goneH
Still as I hail thee thou gloomy DecemberB
Still shall I hail thee wi' sorrow and careC
For sad was the parting thou makes me rememberB
Parting wi' Nancy oh ne'er to meet mairC
