Fareweel To A'our Scottish Fame Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDED FGFGHDED IJIJKDED

Fareweel to a' our Scottish fameA
Fareweel our ancient gloryB
Fareweel ev'n to the Scottish nameA
Sae famed in martial storyB
Now Sark rins over Solway sandsC
And Tweed rins to the oceanD
To mark where England's province stands mdashE
Such a parcel of rogues in a nationD
-
What force or guile could not subdueF
Thro' many warlike agesG
Is wrought now by a coward fewF
For hireling traitor's wagesG
The English steel we could disdainH
Secure in valour's stationD
But English gold has been our bane mdashE
Such a parcel of rogues in a nationD
-
O would or I had seen the dayI
That treason thus could sell usJ
My auld grey head had lien in clayI
Wi' Bruce and loyal WallaceJ
But pith and power till my last hourK
I'll mak this declarationD
We're bought and sold for English gold mdashE
Such a parcel of rogues in a nationD
