Rhyme Scheme: ABBB BBCB AAAA AADA AAAA AEFE

O saw ye bonnie LesleyA
As she gaed o'er the BorderB
She's gane like AlexanderB
To spread her conquests fartherB
-
To see her is to love herB
And love but her for everB
For Nature made her what she isC
And ne'er made sic anitherB
-
Thou art a queen fair LesleyA
Thy subjects we before theeA
Thou art divine fair LesleyA
The hearts o' men adore theeA
-
The Deil he could'na scaith theeA
Or aught that wad belang theeA
He'd look into thy bonnie faceD
And say I canna wrang theeA
-
The Powers aboon will tent theeA
Misfortune sha'na steer theeA
Thou'rt like themsel' sae lovelyA
That ill they'll ne'er let near theeA
-
Return again fair LesleyA
Return to CaledonieE
That we may brag we hae a lassF
There's nane again sae bonnieE
