The Lost Mistress Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEF GAGA DADA

All's over then does truth sound bitterA
As one at first believesB
Hark 'tis the sparrows' good night twitterA
About your cottage eavesB
-
And the leaf buds on the vine are woollyC
I noticed that todayD
One day more bursts them open fullyC
You know the red turns greyD
-
Tomorrow we meet the same then dearestE
May I take your hand in mineF
Mere friends are we well friends the merestE
Keep much that I resignF
-
For each glance of that eye so bright and blackG
Though I keep with heart's endeavourA
Your voice when you wish the snowdrops backG
Though it stay in my soul for everA
-
Yet I will but say what mere friends sayD
Or only a thought strongerA
I will hold your hand but as long as all mayD
Or so very little longerA
