I know there shall dawn a day	A
Is it here on homely earth	B
Is it yonder worlds away	A
Where the strange and new have birth	B
That Power comes full in play	A

Under befriending trees	D
When shy buds venture out	C

With body to life awoke	T
Soul the immortal twin	S
Of body which bore soul's yoke	T
Since mortal and not akin	S

By means of the flesh grown fit	U

Now soared anon alit	U
To treasure its gatherings	V
From the ranged expanse to wit	U

Nature earth's heaven's wide show	H
Which taught all hope all fear	E
Acquainted with joy and woe	H
I could say Thus much is clear	E
Doubt annulled thus much I know	H

As it would has willed and done	X
Power and my mind's applause	Y
Goes passing laws each one	X
To Omnipotence lord of laws	Y

From loving's acknowledgment	U
Whole losses outweigh half gains	Z
Earth's good is with evil blent	U
Good struggles but evil reigns	Z

Yet since Earth's good proved good	U
Incontrovertibly	P
Worth loving I understood	U
How evil did mind descry	E
Power's object to end pursued	U

Were haply as cloud across	A2
Good's orb no orb itself	B2
Mere mind were it found at loss	A2
Did it play the tricksy elf	B2
And from life's gold purge the dross	A2

Good struggles to be at best	U
Seems scanned by the human sight	U
Tried by the senses' test	U
Good palpably but with right	U

Knowledge from star to clod	U

Closed its long period	U

Broke out in cloudless blaze	M
Unchequered as unrepressed	U
In all things Good at best	U
