Still you stand still you listen still you smile	A
Still melts your moonbeam through me white awhile	A
Softening sweetening till sweet and soft	B
Increase so round this heart of mine that oft	C
I could believe your moonbeam smile has past	D
The pallid limit lies transformed at last	D
To sunlight and salvation warms the soul	E
It sweets softens Would you pass that goal	E
Gain love's birth at the limit's happier verge	F
And where an iridescence lurks but urge	F
The hesitating pallor on to prime	G
Of dawn true blood streaked sun warmth action time	G
By heart pulse ripened to a ruddy glow	H
Of gold above my clay I scarce should know	H
From gold's self thus suffused For gold means love	I
What means the sad slow silver smile above	I
My clay but pity pardon at the best	J
But acquiescence that I take my rest	J
Contented to be clay while in your heaven	K
The sun reserves love for the Spirit Seven	K
Companioning God's throne they lamp before	L
Leaves earth a mute waste only wandered o'er	M
By that pale soft sweet disempassioned moon	N
Which smiles me slow forgiveness Such the boon	N
I beg Nay dear submit to this just this	O
Supreme endeavor As my lips now kiss	O
Your feet my arms convulse your shrouding robe	P
My eyes acquainted with the dust dare probe	P
Your eyes above for what if born would blind	Q
Mine with redundant bliss as flash may find	Q
The inert nerve sting awake the palsied limb	R
Bid with life's ecstasy sense overbrim	R
And suck back death in the resurging joy	S
Love the love whole and sole without alloy	S

Lips arms eyes pray the prayer which finds the word	T
Make the appeal which must be felt not heard	T
And none the more is changed your calm regard	U
Rather its sweet and soft grow harsh and hard	U
Forbearance then repulsion then disdain	V
Avert the rest I rise see make again	W
Once more the old departure for some track	X
Untried yet through a world which brings me back	X
Ever thus fruitlessly to find your feet	Y
To fix your eyes to pray the soft and sweet	Y
Which smile there take from his new pilgrimage	Z
Your outcast once your inmate and assuage	A2
With love not placid pardon now his thirst	B2
For a mere drop from out the ocean erst	B2
He drank at Well the quest shall be renewed	B2
Fear nothing Though I linger unembued	B2
With any drop my lips thus close I go	H
So did I leave you I have found you so	H
And doubtlessly if fated to return	C2
So shall my pleading persevere and earn	C2
Pardon not love in that same smile I learn	C2
And lose the meaning of to learn once more	L

What magic hall return to like the gem	R
Centuply angled o'er a diadem	R
You dwell there hearted from your mid most home	R
Rays forth through that fantastic world I roam	R

That purples out its precinct through that waste	B2
Surely I had your sanction when I faced	B2
Fared forth upon that untried yellow ray	G2
Whence I retrack my steps They end to day	G2
Where they began before your feet beneath	H2
Your eyes your smile the blade is shut in sheath	H2
Fire quenched in flint irradiation late	B2
Triumphant through the distance finds it fate	B2
Merged in your blank pure soul alike the source	I2
And tomb of that prismatic glow divorce	I2
Absolute all conclusive Forth I fared	B2
Treading the lambent flamelet little cared	B2
If now its flickering took the topaz tint	B2
If now my dull caked path gave sulphury hint	B2
Of subterranean rage no stay nor stint	B2
To yellow since you sanctioned that I bathe	J2

With crocus saffron orange as I used	B2
With scarlet purple every dye o' the bow	L2
Born of the storm cloud As before you show	H
Scarce recognition no approval some	R
Mistrust more wonder at a man become	R
Monstrous in garb nay flesh disguised as well	M2
Through his adventure Whatsoe'er befell	M2
I followed wheresoe'er it wound that vein	V
You authorized should leave your whiteness stain	V
Earth's sombre stretch beyond your mid most place	N2
Of vantage trode that tinct whereof the trace	N2
On garb and flesh repel you Yes I plead	B2

Till last but why parade more shame and pain	V
Are not the proofs upon me Here again	W

May yet again adventure tread from source	I2
To issue one more ray of rays which course	I2

Silver and sweet their birthplace down that drear	T2

Your pilgrim jewelled as with drops o' the urn	C2
The rainbow paints from and no smatch at all	U2
Of ghastliness at edge of some cloud pall	V2
Heaven cowers before as earth awaits the fall	U2
O' the bolt and flash of doom Who trusts your word	B2
Tries the adventure and returns absurd	B2
As frightful in that sulphur steeped disguise	W2
Mocking the priestly cloth of gold sole prize	W2
The arch heretic was wont to bear away	G2
Until he reached the burning No I say	G2
No fresh adventure No more seeking love	I
At end of toil and finding calm above	I
My passion the old statuesque regard	B2
The sad petrific smile	A

And hateful than mistaken and obtuse	X2
Unreason of a she intelligence	E2

Feminity of sense with right divine	C2
