A Face Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDEDFFGGHHIIJKLL LJ

If one could have that little head of hersA
Painted upon a background of pure goldB
Such as the Tuscan's early art prefersA
No shade encroaching on the matchless mouldB
Of those two lips which should be opening softC
In the pure profile not as when she laughsD
For that spoils all but rather as if aloftE
Yon hyacinth she loves so leaned its staff'sD
Burden of honey colored buds to kissF
And capture 'twixt the lips apart for thisF
Then her little neck three fingers might surroundG
How it should waver on the pale gold groundG
Up to the fruit shaped perfect chin it liftsH
I know Correggio loves to mass in riftsH
Of heaven his angel faces orb on orbI
Breaking its outline burning shades absorbI
But these are only massed there I should thinkJ
Waiting to see some wonder momentlyK
Grow out stand full fade slow against the skyL
That's the pale ground you'd see this sweet face byL
All heaven meanwhile condensed into one eyeL
Which fears to lose the wonder should it winkJ
