To Madame Jumel Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABACC DEDEDFF GHGHGII

Of all the wind blown dust of faces fairA
Had I a god's re animating breathB
Thee like a perfumed torch in the dim airA
Lethean and the eyeless halls of deathB
Would I relume the cresset of thine hairA
Furiously bright should stream across the gloomC
And thy deep violet eyes again should bloomC
-
Methinks that but a pinch of thy wild dustD
Blown back to flame would set our world on fireE
Thy face amid our timid counsels thrustD
Would light us back to glory and desireE
And swords flash forth that now ignobly rustD
Maenad and Muse upon thy lips of flameF
Madness too wise might kiss a clod to fameF
-
Like musk the charm of thee in the gray mouldG
That lies on by gone traffickings of stateH
Transformed a moment by that head of goldG
Touching the paltry hour with splendid FateH
To write the Constitution 'twere a coldG
Dusty and bloomless immortalityI
Without that last wild dying thought of theeI
