The Shimmer Of The Sound Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABCBD DAA BBE FFE DGHG AA

In the long shimmer of the SoundA
May I some day be laughing foundA
Part of its restless to and froB
A humble worker of the tidesC
That round the sleepless planet flowB
And in the rock and drift of thingsD
-
O how the sea weed sways and swingsD
Is it her hair has she been foundA
In the long shimmer of the SoundA
-
Do some small task I do not knowB
O maybe help the mussel growB
Or tint the shell imprisoned pearlE
-
A mute companion of the wavesF
That toss within their moonlit gravesF
Is it a king or but a girlE
-
And all the while she sings and singsD
And waves her wild white hands with gleeG
Mysterious sister of the worldH
That singing water called the seaG
-
O tell me was this sea weed foundA
In the long shimmer of the SoundA
