The Passionate Reader To His Poet Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DECE FGHG IJKLJ AMNM AOPO QPGP

Doth it not thrill thee PoetA
Dead and dust though thou artB
To feel how I press thy singingC
Close to my heartB
-
Take it at night to my pillowD
Kiss it before I sleepE
And again when the delicate morningC
Beginneth to peepE
-
See how I bathe thy pagesF
Here in the light of the sunG
Through thy leaves as a wind among rosesH
The breezes shall runG
-
Feel how I take thy poemI
And bury within it my faceJ
As I pressed it last night in the heart ofK
a flowerL
Or deep in a dearer placeJ
-
Think as I love thee PoetA
A thousand love besideM
Dear women love to press thee tooN
Against a sweeter sideM
-
Art thou not happy PoetA
I sometimes dream that IO
For such a fragrant fame as thineP
Would gladly sing and dieO
-
Say wilt thou change thy gloryQ
For this same youth of mineP
And I will give my days i' the sunG
For that great song of thineP
